Rio 2016: Rose welcomes Luis Figo´s Olympic golf interest

Gold medal winner Justin Rose says the congratulations he received from former football superstar Luis Figo demonstrates the reach made possible by golf s return to the Olympic Games.

Great Britain s Rose defeated Henrik Stenson of Sweden by two strokes after a duel that went to the final hole in Rio on Sunday.

And the 36-year-old claimed that attracting attention from the likes of Wayne Rooney and Figo, the 2000 Ballon d Or winner, demonstrates the value of competing at the quadrennial showpiece event.

I didn t even know he was a golfer, per se, Rose told Sky Sports when asked about former Real Madrid and Barcelona superstar Figo.

So when someone like that comes out of left field, it just shows what a huge reach the Olympic Games has.

Day three of Euro 2008 – France 0-0 Romania, Italy 0-3 Holland.

In the games on day three of the Euros we went from the sublime to the ridiculous. Actually it was the other way round as the early game between France and Romania was quite dreadful and the evening game between Holland and Italy was superb.

One of the pundits on the BBC in England described the France against Romania game as the worst game of football he has ever seen. I wouldn’t have gone quite that far but it really was bad. The Romanians will be pleased that they set out to get a point and achieved their goals. The French will be devastated that they produced so little.

In some ways, Romania may actually be slightly disappointed because the French were so bad that had they shown any adventure whatsoever they may well have taken all three points rath…

Bayern Munich 2017-18: A tale of responding to adversity

Saturday s 4-1 over Augsburg confirmed Bayern Munich s status as Bundesliga champions for a sixth season in succession.

Bayern have won the title at a canter their glory was secured with five matches still to play. Success has looked a formality for a long time, with Jupp Heynckes whipping the side into shape.

But at the start of the season there were few indications the campaign would go as it has, as Borussia Dortmund sat at the top of the pile while Bayern looked sluggish and fell behind.

Yet here we are at the start of April, with Bayern and Heynckes lifting the trophy while soaked in Paulaner.

However, that does not tell the whole story of how Bayern cruised to a 28th Bundesliga title.

Tomas Rosicky expected to miss out until 2009

It was announced here last night that Czech Republic and Arsenal winger was rushed to hospital in the capital after having, what was originally believed to be a bad reaction to the injections administered to him in his knee. He had complained of feeling sick and agonising headaches.

He had been on the road to recovery after last having played for Arsenal in January of this year.

It was revealed at the hospital that he has been diagnosed with bone-marrow edema.

It is extremely unlikely that he will ready before the end of the year.

Raiders vs Browns Week 15 Prop Bets: Raiding Cleveland's Decimated Defense

Week 15 in the NFL has a pair of Monday games after the matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders was pushed back from its originally scheduled slot on Saturday.

With the Browns lineup decimated by a COVID-19 outbreak, the league was hoping the extra two days would give Cleveland enough time to get back some depth. However, with only a few players cleared to come back for this 5:00 p.m. ET kickoff, sportsbooks have been reluctant to post Browns player props.

That said, there are several tempting Raiders props on the NFL betting board which is where we’re putting our money in our free player props and predictions for the Raiders vs. Browns on Monday, December 20.

NFL Week 11 Bet Now, Bet Later: Are Vikings Being Underestimated at Home vs Cowboys?

Football bettors suddenly find themselves facing plenty of new factors to consider as we dive into the NFL Week 11 odds.

The bitter cold and winds of November are here, as are the questionable motivations of teams that find themselves behind the pack in terms of the playoff race. And then there’s the usual “bag of cats” handicappers have to deal with on a weekly basis.

But no matter what the NFL season throws at you, getting the best of the number to support your bets is going to keep you in the fight. I help you do just that by sizing up the opening odds and early action while highlighting some spreads and totals to bet now and some lines you may want to bet later.

NFL odds have the Browns installed as a soft 3-point favorite with the Over/Under at 38.5 for this Week 15 clash. Here are my best free NFL picks and predictions for Bears vs. Browns on Sunday, December 17.

Bears vs Chiefs Prediction, Picks & Odds for This Week’s NFL Preseason Game

The preseason finale between the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs won’t feature many — if any — starters Thursday night and there have been big moves in the market ahead of this contest.

The Bears have impressed with three straight preseason wins while outscoring their opponents 81-26. Head coach Matt Eberflus is now 7-2 straight up and against the spread in exhibition action.

With Chicago’s strong defense and the Under hitting in 26 of the first 33 preseason games this year, the total for this game has dropped considerably, much to the delight of our Bears vs. Chiefs predictions and NFL picks below.

‘It is like drink-driving’: Jürgen Klopp says anti-vaxxers endanger others

Jürgen Klopp has launched an attack on people who refuse coronavirus vaccinations by comparing them to drink-drivers and saying they are to blame if others catch Covid from them.

The Liverpool manager accused the anti-vaccination movement of ignoring the experts and endangering others while making disingenuous claims about a loss of freedom to justify their stance.
